Job summary

Toyota Marin is seeking a motivated Vehicle Acquisition Specialist / Used Vehicle Buyer to grow our pre-owned inventory. You will source vehicles from private sellers, follow up on leads, and build relationships to identify opportunities that meet current inventory needs.

Qualifications

• Automotive sales, vehicle acquisition, purchasing, or customer service experience preferred.
• Previous dealership experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable making outbound calls, prospecting, and initiating conversations with potential sellers.
• Ability to build trust, overcome objections, and negotiate professionally.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to earn based on performance.
• Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-up habits.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a dealership team.
• Professional attitude and customer-focused approach.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Source and acquire quality pre-owned vehicles from private sellers and other acquisition channels.
• Generate acquisition opportunities through outbound calls, internet leads, referrals, online marketplaces, and customer outreach.
• Contact individuals interested in selling or trading their vehicles.
• Build relationships with prospective sellers and maintain consistent follow-up.
• Schedule appraisal appointments and guide customers through the vehicle acquisition process.
• Gather vehicle information, assess condition, and coordinate appraisals with dealership management.
• Negotiate vehicle purchases while maintaining professionalism and a positive customer experience.
• Identify vehicles that align with dealership inventory needs and current market demand.
• Work with dealership management and the sales team to maximize acquisition opportunities.
• Maintain accurate customer information, lead activity, and follow-up records in dealership systems.
• Meet performance goals related to lead generation, appointments, vehicle acquisitions, and sales results.
