Job summary

Hutch Auto Group in Paintsville, KY is seeking an Experienced Used Car Director to lead our pre-owned operations across CDJR, Ford, and Chevrolet locations. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in managing a profitable used-vehicle operation and can drive inventory strategy and pricing to maximize profitability.

You will own the used-vehicle operation, develop a profitable pre-owned strategy, and lead a high-performing team focused on accountability and results.

Qualifications

• Proven, verifiable track record of success in automotive used-car management.
• Experience as a Used Car Manager, Pre-Owned Director, Used Car Director, or equivalent leadership role.
• Proven ability to achieve used-car sales, gross-profit, inventory-turn, and profitability objectives.
• Strong knowledge of appraisals, inventory management, pricing, acquisition, and market analysis.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the dealership's used-vehicle operation.
• Develop and execute a profitable pre-owned strategy.
• Manage used inventory acquisition, appraisal, pricing, aging, and turn.
• Analyze market data and adjust pricing to maximize profitability.
• Monitor and improve used-car gross profit and department performance.
• Lead, coach, and hold the used-car sales team accountable.
• Establish disciplined appraisal and acquisition processes.
• Manage inventory aging, wholesale activity, and inventory levels.
• Work with Sales, Finance, Service, and Recon teams.
• Ensure vehicles are reconditioned, photographed, merchandised, and advertised.
• Review KPIs daily/weekly/monthly and take action based on performance.
• Build processes that create consistent results and profitability.
