Job summary

Motorola Solutions’ Silvus Technologies unit seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Air Force to bridge RF capabilities with DoD requirements. You will support cross-functional teams to demonstrate interoperability and field-readiness of StreamCaster radios in airborne and expeditionary environments.

The role involves working with DoD stakeholders, delivering technical demos, and shaping product roadmaps based on field feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing US Air Force operational priorities and mapping requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineering to verify proposed architectures are technically sound.
• Maintain alignment with Business Development for technical needs and priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for airborne and expeditionary networking needs.
• Contribute technical input for RFI/RFP responses.
• Perform market research for potential integrations with industry partners.
• Engage with Air Force program offices and labs to translate feedback into roadmap inputs.
• Travel 50%; undertake field tests and demonstrations.
