Job description

Position Summary...

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Tours stores and provides feedback, communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicates business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved successfully. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and leads process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, provides recognition, and ensures diversity and inclusion awareness. Recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and company growth potential.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs. Builds accountability, measures progress, identifies improvement opportunities, and demonstrates adaptability. Ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and supporting the Open Door Policy. Creates a workplace of belonging, supports diversity, and fosters a culture where associates feel supported, seen, and connected.

Acts with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, modeling Walmart values, and supporting a positive culture. Works collaboratively, builds strong relationships, and communicates effectively to motivate and influence. Attracts, retains, and develops talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments. The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25-$38.46 plus differential, with additional bonuses and potential regional pay zone adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications...

Two years of college; or one year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience; or two years of general work experience and one year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition and with specific state requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.

Preferred Qualifications...

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through the same programs. Experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
