Job description

Position Summary...

This role involves leading and developing teams effectively by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Responsibilities include communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. The position also involves introducing and leading company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicating business objectives to teams effectively. The role models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, and ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Developing and implementing action plans to correct deficiencies and providing process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience are also key responsibilities.

The position drives financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating profit and loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, controlling expenses, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. It involves developing and implementing action plans to mitigate shrinkage and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved. The role includes supervising and developing hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, providing recognition, and ensuring diversity and inclusion. It also involves coordinating activities by developing relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, and building accountability for results.

The role requires ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting the company's mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. It emphasizes respect for individuals, building high-performing teams, embracing differences, creating a workplace of belonging, and fostering a culture where associates can thrive. The position also requires acting with integrity, maintaining high standards of ethics, and supporting Walmart's culture and community involvement.

Minimum Qualifications...

Candidates should have 2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be necessary. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments related to the job.

Preferred Qualifications...

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through the same programs, and experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
