Job description

Position Summary...

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Tours stores and provides feedback, communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, and ensuring customer needs and complaints are addressed successfully. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and leads process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive the financial performance and sales of the store area by reviewing PL statements, managing budgets, and controlling expenses.
  2. Ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  3. Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  4. Supervise and develop hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties.
  5. Set clear expectations, provide recognition, and communicate effectively to ensure staff development and diversity awareness.
  6. Ensure compliance with company policies, support company values, and uphold standards of ethics and integrity.
  7. Build high-performing teams, embrace diversity, and create a culture of belonging and support.
  8. Act with integrity, maintain high standards of ethics, and support Walmart’s culture and sustainability initiatives.
  9. Deliver results with a focus on customer satisfaction, using data insights and balancing short- and long-term priorities.
  10. Encourage continuous learning, technological adoption, and resilience among team members.
Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. Additional requirements include successful completion of all job-related trainings and assessments. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific CBC and training is required. For ammunition-only facilities, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports with responsibilities including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
