Job description

Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, including store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved successfully. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  2. Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  3. Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
  4. Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties.
  5. Set clear expectations, provide recognition, communicate consistently, and ensure diversity and inclusion awareness.
  6. Ensure compliance with company policies, standards of ethics, and support company mission and values.
  7. Build high-performing teams, embrace differences, and create a workplace where associates feel supported and connected.
  8. Lead with integrity, maintain high standards of ethics, and support Walmart's culture and community initiatives.
  9. Deliver results with a customer-first approach, making decisions based on data insights and balancing priorities.
  10. Drive continuous improvement through learning, adopting new technologies, and supporting change.
Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through the same programs. Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
