Job description

Position Summary...

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, including store community and outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to address deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating Profit and Loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  2. Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  3. Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
  4. Supervise and develop hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties.
  5. Set clear expectations, provide recognition, and ensure diversity and inclusion awareness.
  6. Build relationships with stakeholders, support plans and initiatives, and measure progress towards goals.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies, support company values, and uphold ethics and integrity.
  8. Create a workplace of belonging, embracing differences and fostering a culture where associates thrive.
  9. Attract, retain, empower, and develop talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments.
  10. Build high-performing teams through collaboration, communication, and trust.
  11. Act with integrity, maintaining high standards of ethics, transparency, and accountability.
  12. Deliver excellent customer service, making decisions based on data insights, and balancing priorities.
  13. Encourage continuous improvement, learning, and adoption of new technologies and skills.
Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with specific state requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, or a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership. Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
