This role involves leading and developing teams through teaching, training, and active listening; conducting store tours and providing feedback (Tour-to-Teach); collaborating across all levels regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; leading change efforts; setting clear expectations; and communicating business objectives effectively to teams.
Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; support customer service initiatives, including community outreach programs; resolve customer needs, complaints, and issues; develop action plans for improvement; and lead process enhancements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Drive financial performance by reviewing P&L statements; managing budgets, forecasts, and expenses; monitoring merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes; and developing strategies to mitigate shrinkage and meet sales and profit goals.
Hire, train, and mentor hourly associates; assign duties; set expectations; recognize achievements; promote diversity and inclusion; and develop qualified staff to support company growth.
Coordinate activities with stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; set goals; measure progress; identify improvement opportunities; and foster continuous learning.
Ensure compliance with company policies and uphold the organization's mission, values, and ethics by implementing related action plans and supporting an open-door policy.
2 years of college, or 1 year of retail experience combined with 1 year of supervisory experience, or 2 years of general work experience with 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearms-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. All associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments.
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through the same programs; experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
