Job description

Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and effectively communicate business objectives to teams. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, including store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved successfully. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating profit and loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  2. Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  3. Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
  4. Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties.
  5. Set clear expectations, provide recognition, and promote a culture of belonging in the workplace.
  6. Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies and support the company's mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  8. Build high-performing teams that embrace diversity, create an inclusive environment, and foster a sense of belonging.
  9. Act with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics, modeling company values, and supporting a culture of accountability.
  10. Serve customers by delivering results, making data-driven decisions, and considering the needs of customers, associates, shareholders, suppliers, and communities.
  11. Strive for excellence by encouraging continuous learning, adopting new technologies, and supporting change.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearm-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Candidates must attend and complete all required training and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through the same programs, and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
