A leading company in retail is seeking a Store Manager to lead teams and enhance customer service in Hammond, Indiana. The successful candidate will oversee operational processes, drive sales performance, and foster a positive work environment. Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and effectively communicate business objectives to teams. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives, and supporting community outreach programs. Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved, develops action plans to address deficiencies, and leads process improvements to enhance customer experience. Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, controlling expenses, and monitoring merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and setting expectations. Ensures compliance with policies, supports company values and ethics, and promotes a culture of belonging and integrity. Builds high-performing teams, attracts and retains talent, and fosters a positive, inclusive workplace. Acts with integrity, maintains high ethical standards, and supports Walmart's mission and values. The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46, with additional compensation such as bonuses and location-based pay zones.
2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
