Walmart is seeking a Team Leader in Brooklyn Park to oversee store operations and develop high-performing teams. Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Responsibilities include touring stores, providing feedback, communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicates business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives, and supporting community outreach programs. Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved, develops and implements action plans to address deficiencies, and leads process improvements to ensure high-quality customer experiences. Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, controlling expenses, monitoring inventory flow, and developing strategies to mitigate shrink and meet sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and recognizing staff, setting clear expectations, and fostering a workplace culture of belonging. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities, develops relationships with stakeholders, supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and promotes continuous learning. Ensures compliance with company policies, standards of ethics and integrity, and supports Walmart's mission and values. Builds high-performing teams, embraces diversity, and creates an inclusive work environment. Acts with integrity, maintains high standards of ethics, and supports Walmart’s sustainability and community initiatives. Focuses on delivering results with the customer in mind, making data-driven decisions, and encouraging continuous improvement and innovation. The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25-$38.46, plus additional compensation such as bonuses and location-based pay zones.
2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition and with state-specific requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments, including Academy and Open Door trainings.
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. Experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
