Qualifications

• Three+ years in business development, sales, account management, or partnerships within ocean carriers, freight forwarders, or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. ocean freight, rate structures, and capacity arrangements.
• Established network of U.S. ocean carrier or freight forwarder contacts.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with ocean carriers and freight forwarders in the U.S. market.
• Negotiate freight rates, space allocations, payment terms, and service arrangements.
• Develop freight forwarder channels and identify new business opportunities and recurring shipments.
• Understand customer and partner requirements, prepare proposals and quotations.
• Manage the business development process from outreach to negotiation and handover.
• Coordinate with operations, customs, and customer service to support new accounts and satisfaction.
• Monitor market rates, capacity, schedules, and trade lane developments for pricing and opportunities.
• Maintain an active pipeline and track progress toward targets.
• Review partnerships and coordinate with finance on terms and balances.
