Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an X-Ray Technician to perform digital radiographs and assist in patient care under provider supervision. The position requires ARRT certification, a radiologic technology associate’s degree, and BLS; hospital experience and EMR proficiency are preferred.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, equipment setup, accurate EMR documentation, and adherence to radiation safety protocols. Travel to other Mercy facilities may be needed.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required
• BLS certification required or preferred
• 1 year of radiology safety and patient care experience preferred
• Experience with Radiology Information System preferred
• EPIC EHR and PACS experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely perform provider ordered radiographic exams with proper positioning and protection.
• Set up equipment and assist patients with safety and immobilization.
• Document patient encounters in EMR accurately.
• Select appropriate technical factors to safeguard patient and equipment.
• Travel to other facilities or adjust hours to meet patient care needs as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor and assist with supplies and lab tasks as needed.
