Job summary

UrgentVet - Las Vegas West is seeking a Full-Time Shift Lead with an active veterinary technician license. The role combines patient care with team leadership in a fast-paced, paperless clinic equipped with cloud-based EMR and IDEXX in-house lab tools.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or veterinary technician certification, plus 2+ years in healthcare or veterinary settings and 6 months of management experience. On-site presence required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in healthcare, veterinary profession, or service-type industry required.
• Medical background with medical terminology training required.
• Associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure required at this time.
• Six months of prior experience in a management position strongly preferred.
• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician and provide operational support across all shifts.
• Provide leadership to support clients, coordinate paraprofessional staff, and align with hospital leadership goals.
• Direct, plan, coordinate, and perform duties concerned with animal health and patient education.
• Ensure effective communication between staff, clients, hospital leadership, and the Support Center.
• Assign cases to veterinary assistants and identify/resolving bottlenecks in medical operations.
• Assist with client resolution decisions, invoice adjustments, and client experience exceptions.
• Address equipment issues and assist in inventory management.
