Job summary

UrgentVet - Gastonia is seeking a Full-Time Shift Lead to provide outstanding patient care, lead a team of paraprofessionals, and deliver excellent client service in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

You will supervise shift operations, coordinate staff schedules, and partner with the Practice Manager and Lead DVM to ensure efficient, high-quality care while maintaining productivity and hospital goals.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in healthcare, veterinary profession, or service-type industry.
• Medical terminology training required.
• Associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred.
• Six months of prior experience in a management position strongly preferred.
• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.

Responsibilities

• Lead veterinary assistants and technicians on shift to ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate staff schedules and manage on-shift labor to meet patient demand.
• Ensure high-quality patient care and client service across all shifts.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, hospital leadership and support centers.
• Assist with client resolution decisions and ensure smooth billing processes.
