Job summary

UrgentVet Hospitals in Westford, MA, is seeking a Full-Time Shift Lead to provide outstanding patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art urgent care clinic.

The Shift Lead will perform the duties of Senior Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician, provide operational support across shifts, and coordinate staff to maximize productivity while maintaining high standards of care. On-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in healthcare, veterinary profession, or service-type industry.
• Medical background with medical terminology training.
• Associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred.
• Six months of prior experience in a management position strongly preferred.
• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support hospital operations across all shifts.
• Coordinate paraprofessional staff and ensure effective communication.
• Assist with client education and ensure consistent, quality patient care.
• Work with Practice Manager and Lead DVM on staffing and hospital goals.
