Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide expert nursing care rooted in biological, physical, behavioral and social sciences. The role emphasizes family-centered care and collaboration with the provider team to deliver high-quality pediatric outcomes.

You will contribute to ongoing education, participate in safety programs, and use EPIC and Microsoft Office tools daily. BSN is required or to be completed within five years, with Ohio RN licensure and BLS certification

Qualifications

• BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• Ohio RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care for patients of all ages, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership and perform professional duties.
• Provide patient-centered care and ensure safety and quality.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Support staff education and mentorship (may precept new employees).
• Engage in evidence-based practice and informatics tasks.
• Collaborate with providers to promote teamwork and legendary pediatric customer service.
