Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a Staff Nurse to provide patient-centered nursing care grounded in biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences. The role emphasizes family-centered care within the patient’s scope of practice and requires leadership in clinical settings.

Responsibilities include assessment-planning-implementation-evaluation, coordination with providers, and participation in quality improvement and education for staff.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current RN license in Ohio is required.
• BLS certification required; other dept certifications may be required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs.
• Perform leadership and professional duties.
• Deliver patient-centered care.
• Engage in quality improvement and safety activities.
• Educate and mentor clinical staff as needed.
• Apply evidence-based practice in daily work.
• Support providers and promote collaboration for high-quality care.
• Engage in systems-based practice and informatics tasks.
• Temporary assignments across Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
• Other duties as required.
