Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Staff Nurse for full-time day shifts to provide family-centered pediatric care in Akron, OH. The role requires a BSN (or completion within 5 years), an Ohio RN license and current BLS certification.

You will work 40 hours per week across four 10-hour shifts with variable start times and call commitments. Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills are essential, with prior EPIC experience and a patient-first approach to service.

Qualifications

• BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current RN license in Ohio is required.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
• Licensure, certifications and necessary credentials may vary by department.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs.
• Perform leadership and professional duties.
• Deliver patient-centered care and participate in quality/safety activities.
• Support education and mentorship for staff; precept new employees when needed.
• Engage in evidence-based practice and collaborates for high quality pediatrics.
• Promote teamwork and excellent customer service for families.
• Participate in informatics and technology duties; adapt to enterprise needs.
