Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an on-call Staff Nurse to provide specialized nursing care in a family-centered environment across the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise. The role emphasizes leadership, clinical excellence, and collaboration within a pediatric-focused team.

The RN must hold an Ohio license, BSN, and BLS, with preferred 1 year of experience. On-call, variable days/hours including weekends; onsite position with diverse unit assignments.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Licensed RN in the state of Ohio is required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
• Perform patient-centered care duties.
• Engage in quality improvement and safety tasks.
• Educate and mentor staff as needed.
• Perform evidence-based practice duties.
• Collaborate with providers for quality care and service.
• Informatics and technology duties.
• Be prepared to be assigned to different Akron Children's Hospital locations as needed.
