Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide nursing care grounded in biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. The role requires leadership, teamwork, and family-centered care within a pediatric setting.

The Staff Nurse will assess and implement care plans, address safety and education needs, and participate in quality improvement and informatics tasks. On-site, full-time with a 0.9 FTE and a variable day schedule, you’ll support providers and mentor newer

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current Ohio RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with family centered focus.
• Provide age-appropriate care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties in the unit.
• Deliver patient-centered care and ensure quality and safety.
• Engage in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Participate in staff education and may precept new employees.
• Perform evidence-based practice duties and collaborate with providers.
• Support providers and promote teamwork and excellent service for pediatric patients.
• Engage in informatics and technology duties; adapt to enterprise needs.
• May be temporarily assigned to different Akron Children's Hospital areas as needed.
