Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Patient Access Representative - Urgent Care for a Per Diem/Relief, Variable position in Oregon. The hourly salary ranges from $23.16 to $31.26, with compensation determined by education, training and experience.

The role coordinates scheduling with insurance verification and pre-certification, acting as a clinical liaison with physician practices for pre-visit services, while supporting a busy urgent care workflow.

Qualifications

High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of medical office or related customer service experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Pre-registers/registers patients with accurate demographics and financial data; may register patients using various methods.
Collects patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payment types.
Verifies insurance coverage and secures required prior authorizations/referrals as needed before arrival.
Responds to customer inquiries and supports departmental coverage.
Manages daily appointment schedules and reminders; may assist with referrals.
