American Family Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced urgent care team. You will greet patients, perform triage, collect vitals, venipuncture and CLIA-waived testing, and support front-desk operations, insurance verification, and EMR accuracy.

Ideal candidates will have accredited MA training, CMA/RMA/CCMA (or equivalent), BLS, and at least 1 year of insurance verification/patient registration experience.

Qualifikationen

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Urgent care or emergency room experience highly valued
• EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals (Waystar).
• Proven venipuncture and specimen collection skills.

Aufgaben

• Clinical Care: Greet and triage patients, collect vitals, venipuncture and CLIA-waived testing.
• Insurance Verification & Front Desk: Register patients, verify eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, reconcile logs, maintain EMR accuracy.
• Patient Service: Educate patients on procedures and financial expectations, provide discharge instructions, de-escalate concerns with empathy.
• Team & Compliance: Participate in daily huddles, maintain compliance logs, support infection-control and HIPAA standards.
