Job summary

American Family Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide essential clinical care and ensure smooth operations at our urgent care center. You will be responsible for patient triage, insurance verification, and assisting with various medical procedures in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited Medical Assistant program completion and active MA certification. At least 1 year of relevant experience is required, along with a collaborative team spirit to make a significant impact in patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration required.
• Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within a defined onboarding period.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, collect vitals and histories.
• Perform venipuncture and point-of-care testing.
• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Educate patients on clinical procedures and financial expectations.
