Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in Oklahoma City is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced, team-based setting. You will support providers with exams, patient care tasks, medication administration, and specimen collection, while maintaining accurate EMR/EHR documentation and high standards of safety and patient service.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved MA program (or a qualified alternative with national certification), and strong

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; diploma copy may be requested.
• Completion of an APPROVED Medical Assistant training program is required.
• Or completion of an UNAPPROVED program plus national certification (CMA/AMT/CCMA) as applicable.
• Other MA education or experience may be considered upon review.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and patient vitals under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and directions; follows safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and may collect urine for testing.
• May perform splinting, casting and basic wound care.
• Conducts sports physicals and other urgent-care duties.
• Notifies providers of unusual patient events and safety concerns.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and front-office support as needed.
