Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care seeks a motivated Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will assist with exams, vitals, procedures, and medication administration while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role includes lab tasks, front-office support, and collaboration with the care team to maintain smooth clinic operations. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, completed an approved MA program, and national certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• National Certification (CMA, RMA or CCMA) or equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, vitals, procedures and patient care under supervision.
• Administer medications per policy and safety guidelines.
• Perform blood draws and may collect urine for testing.
• May perform splinting, casting and sports physicals.
• Handle front-office tasks as needed to support patient flow.
• Support laboratory duties: analytical testing, QC, LIS processing and documentation.
• Notify provider of unusual patient events and safety concerns promptly.
