Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support fast-paced clinical and front office operations in our Phoenix clinic.

You will assist providers with exams and vitals, perform basic procedures, draw blood, collect specimens, and ensure smooth patient flow with proficient EMR/EHR use.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and completion of an accredited MA program (or non-accredited with CMA/RMA/CCMA certification), plus strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• National MA certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA) or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and patient vitals under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws as directed by the provider.
• May collect urine samples for testing (e.g., drug screens).
• May perform splinting and casting.
• Conducts physicals such as sports physicals.
• Performs back-office duties: wound care, oxygen administration, etc.
• Notifies provider on duty of unusual patient occurrences.
• Follows laboratory accreditation policies and EMR/EHR use.
