The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative for Urgent Care. The role focuses on front desk operations, greeting patients, processing appointments in MyChart and EMR, validating insurance, and assisting the care team to prepare for daily patients.

Hours include 2-3 weekday evenings and alternating weekend shifts. Responsibilities cover pre-visit scheduling, during-visit check-in/out, post-visit follow-up scheduling, and ongoing customer service

Qualifications

High School Graduate or GED required.
1+ year of customer service or health care experience preferred.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality is essential.

Responsabilités

Handle front desk operations, greeting and checking in patients and visitors.
Process MyChart and EMR appointment requests and insurance verification.
Assist with patient pre-visit scheduling, including referrals and multiple appointment coordination.
Support during visit check-in/out, collect copays, and assist with MyChart activation.
Schedule follow-up appointments and ensure coverage until the last patient is dismissed.
Maintain knowledge of appointment types, locations, providers, and specialties.
