Job summary

Carbon Health in Wall Township, New Jersey, is hiring a Medical Receptionist to welcome and register patients and handle essential administrative tasks to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

You will multitask in a fast-paced environment, work with clinical staff, and support patient flow, insurance processing, and referrals while promoting our care services and digital tools. This role requires weekday, weekend, and some holiday availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of direct experience as a medical office receptionist in a fast-paced clinic, hospital, or similar healthcare setting or 3 years of related customer-service experience.
• Must be able to type 30+ wpm.
• Experience and familiarity with medical insurance (understanding of costs, deductibles, copays, coverage) preferred.
• Computer skills required; willingness to learn Google Suite and related tools.
• Able to remain focused and calm during stressful situations in high-volume settings.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the first and last interaction with our patients.
• Greeting patients and acting as a resource.
• Schedule patients through different modalities.
• Introduce the Carbon app to patients.
• Verify insurance and collect copayments.
• Administrative work such as writing referrals and preparing lab paperwork.
• Work collaboratively on projects with clinical leadership to enhance the patient experience.
