Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or eligibility and willingness to obtain within organizational timeframe.
• Demonstrated venipuncture experience in a clinical setting.
• Prior urgent care or fast-paced outpatient experience preferred.
• Ability and commitment to obtain BAT and DOT certifications within specified timeframe.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-focused approach.
• Proficiency with computers and EHR; quick learner.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, document histories, and assist with exams.
• Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens.
• Support back-office tasks including medication administration and specimen handling.
• Handle front-office duties: check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing support.
• Provide urgent-care level support and assist with time-sensitive procedures.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation per policy.
• Follow infection control, safety, and quality protocols.
• Obtain BAT and DOT certifications within required timeframe.
