American Family Care is seeking a Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join our urgent care team. The role focuses on insurance verification, billing support, and delivering patient-centered service at the front desk in AFC clinics across several states.

You will verify coverage, counsel patients on costs, and manage check-ins with care and accuracy. The position offers part-time hours (15–20 per week) with the potential for growth and a path into revenue cycle roles.

Qualifications

• Insurance verification and billing experience is required
• Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to patients with clarity
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy (insurance IDs)
• Experience as a Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistant or in Customer Service in a medical office
• Tech-savvy with medical billing software and EMR systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to find billing solutions

Responsibilities

• Master Insurance Verification: verify coverage before services, prevent denials, maximize revenue
• Excel at Financial Counseling: explain costs, billing processes, and insurance complexities to patients
• Solve Billing Problems: identify and resolve insurance discrepancies and billing issues before they affect revenue
• Drive Patient Satisfaction: provide exceptional service during financial conversations while handling payments
• Be the Face of AFC: greet patients with warmth and professionalism
• Own the Front Desk Flow: process payments, schedule appointments, and manage check-ins efficiently
• Protect Patient Information: maintain organized records and follow HIPAA regulations
