Job summary

Texas State University seeks a Grant Coordinator for the Upward Bound Del Valle program, located in Del Valle, TX, with frequent travel to the San Marcos campus. This grant-funded role requires a bachelor's degree and experience in academic support, advising, and program development.

The coordinator develops workshops, oversees tutoring, and maintains participant records while ensuring students advance toward graduation and college enrollment. Evening/weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
• Experience with academic support programs including advising and the college exploration/apply process.
• Experience developing programs, events, trips, and workshops for students.
• Effective writing and speaking skills.
• Experience with computer software (Microsoft suite) and database management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist with program recruitment.
• Complete IEPs and Needs Assessments annually for participants.
• Develop and implement co-curricular programming for students and parents/guardians including workshops, trips, and events.
• Oversee afterschool academic tutoring weekly.
• Ensure students utilize tutoring services and communicate tutor needs.
• Assist Director with Saturday Instruction Sessions (monthly).
• Lead afterschool tutors, interns, instructors and mentors.
• Oversee assessment and reporting of participant progress and growth.
• Provide college admission and financial aid information; support graduation and enrollment steps.
• Maintain participant files and program documentation for databases; verify promotions and graduations.
• Assist with pre/post evaluations and annual reports.
• Develop outreach networks and act as liaison within target communities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Conduct other duties as assigned.
