Job summary

Fairfield University is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support for Windows 10/11 and Mac OS to faculty, staff and students. You will diagnose hardware, software and networking issues, perform maintenance and updates on classroom technology, and assist in procurement and changes.

The role requires 3–5 years of service-based tech support, strong customer service, and solid knowledge of Windows, macOS, networking and printers. Evenings/weekends possible.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in technical field or equivalent experience; 3–5 years in a service-based tech support role.
• Proficient with Windows and macOS hardware, software, printers and networking devices.
• Strong communication, organization and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 tech support for Windows, Mac OS, software and hardware issues.
• Diagnose and resolve classroom and office equipment, printers and network problems.
• Perform maintenance, updates, and asset data updates; support moves/adds/changes.
• Assist in procurement, inventory tracking and data backup/restoration tasks.
• Occasional remote support with manager approval; evening/weekend shifts as needed.
