Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Unit Clerk to support patient throughput and unit operations. You will manage admissions, bed assignments, and communications among staff, patients, and families, ensuring timely documentation and records.

You will also assist with rounds, scheduling, and coordinating with hospital departments to support discharge planning. Qualified candidates have GED/HiSET and strong computer skills; familiarity with hospital information systems is expected.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required for employment.
• Must be computer literate and able to use hospital systems.
• Complete required dysrhythmia course within 6 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bed management and ADT coordination with nursing leadership.
• Maintain patient charts, records, and discharge documents.
• Serve as unit greeter and coordinate patient/family orientation.
• Communicate with staff and departments; relay requests and updates.
• Assist Hospitalists with rounds, calls, and referrals as directed.
