Position Summary:
The Unit Manager Registered Nurse oversees the nursing unit operations in a long-term care facility, ensuring quality resident care and staff management.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; degree preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) (if required by state)
  • Valid CPR certification

Experience:

  • Minimum three years of nursing experience, including at least one year in long-term care

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage staffing, hiring, disciplining, and evaluating staff
  • Lead meetings to address resident care issues
  • Ensure high-quality care and compliance with regulations
  • Develop and evaluate staff training and development programs
  • Coordinate with physicians and monitor resident health
  • Review staffing patterns and census to meet resident needs and budgets
  • Monitor clinical operations and resident conditions
  • Manage medications, supplies, and medical records
  • Assist in staff orientation and ongoing supervision
  • Participate in quality assurance programs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
