Job Description

Education

• Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or a related field.
• Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by CADE of the American Dietetic Association.
• Master's degree is preferred.

Certification & Licensure

• RD - Registered Dietitian
• OR RN - Registered Nurse of California within 90 days of hire
• CNSD - Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian
• OR CDCES - Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist
• OR CSPN - Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition
• OR CSR

Preferred Experience

• Recent experience in an acute healthcare setting.
• Expertise in sub-specialty and long-term care is desirable.
• Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

• Comprehensive knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling principles, pathophysiology, and interventions.
• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
