Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites you to apply for the Unit Director role at Mexia State Supported Living Center. You will oversee residential operations, supervise staff and coordinate interdisciplinary services to deliver individualized supports and 24/7 programs.

The position requires strong leadership, crisis management and collaboration with IDT members to ensure safety, health and quality improvement for residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and two years of experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• At least one year of experience leading, directing or managing multiple staff members.
• Must possess valid Texas driver’s license or obtain it within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily operations, programming and activities of a cluster of homes to ensure safety and quality care.
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise a large staff across disciplines to support residents.
• Coordinate services (nursing, behavior health, QIDP) to align with best practices and settlement agreements.
• Lead strategic planning, performance improvement and crisis management for the assigned homes.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal laws, DO settlement terms, and policy requirements.
