Job summary

Trinity Health Livingston is seeking a Unit Clerk to provide clerical support on the Progressive Care unit. You will facilitate registrations, admissions, discharges and transfers, and maintain patient records and unit supplies.

The role includes reception duties for patients and visitors in a busy hospital setting. Shift options include part-time 24 hours per week (9am–9:30pm or 9am–5:30pm) and full-time 32 hours per week (9am–5:30pm).

Qualifications

• Provide clerical support for patients, visitors and colleagues on assigned nursing units.
• Facilitate patient registrations, admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Support patient experience and culture of safety through equipment maintenance and stocking.
• Provide reception services to patients, families, visitors and unit guests.
• Assist in the orientation of health care team members to clerical operations.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phones and triages communications to appropriate team members and patients.
• Manages clerical component of patient information throughout the episode of care.
• Completes functions related to patient admission, discharge and transfer.
• Assembles and maintains patient records from admission through discharge.
• Coordinates unit equipment maintenance, supplies and environment.
• Coordinates regular maintenance and repair of unit equipment as needed.
