Job summary

New York Life Group Benefit Solutions is hiring a Full-Time Underwriting Analyst in a Hybrid role (3 days on-site per week) through the LAUNCH program. You’ll receive structured underwriting training, mentorship, and hands-on experience across Life, Accident, Disability, Absence, and Voluntary Benefits.

You will help assess risk, set pricing, and support regional sales efforts while developing leadership and technical underwriting skills during your first year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in preferred fields (Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Business Management)
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Preferred 3.0 GPA or higher
• High comfort level with math/numbers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Leadership potential with customer-centric focus

Responsibilities

• Underwrite prospective clients within Group Benefit Solutions portfolio (Life, Accident, Disability, Absence Administration, Voluntary Benefits)
• Communicate pricing, profitability, and risk with internal partners
• Contribute to financial goals through risk decisions while maintaining favorable outcomes
• Collaborate with underwriting team members to solve problems
• Negotiate with matrix partners to create long‑term value for clients and organization
• Engage in LAUNCH Program training and apply concepts on active opportunities
• Support a sales region after LAUNCH and participate in ongoing training
