Job summary

New York Life Group Benefit Solutions is seeking a Full-Time Underwriting Analyst in the LAUNCH Program. You will develop underwriting skills across risk management, pricing and collaboration, while supporting financial goals and client outcomes.

The LAUNCH program provides structured training, mentorship, and growth opportunities, with a path to regional sales support and continued professional development within underwriting and across NYL departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Business Management, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Some travel may be required (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Assess risk and underwrite prospective clients within Group Benefit Solutions (Life, Accident, Disability, Absence Administration, Voluntary Benefits).
• Communicate pricing, profitability, and risk profile to internal partners.
• Contribute to company financial goals through risk decisions while balancing outcomes.
• Partner with underwriting team members to solve problems and negotiate with matrix partners.
• Participate in structured LAUNCH training and apply concepts on active opportunities.
