Job summary

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO) manages and operates the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, NM. The Mine Operations Manager will lead underground operations, coordinating with Engineering and planning teams to maintain a cohesive long-term mine plan and safety-focused culture.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory compliance, and ability to deliver plans and metrics while integrating cross-department needs and external stakeholder requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of underground mining systems, equipment, processes and practices.
• Experience with safety and regulatory compliance in mining.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain underground work qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface to Engineering on underground mine plan, ventilation, rock mechanics and ground control.
• Collaborate with Projects and Planning Manager to integrate infrastructure and capital projects into the master plan.
• Provide direction to execution teams and deliver mine performance metrics and schedules.
