Job summary

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO) seeks a Hoisting Supervisor for the WIPP site in Carlsbad, NM. The role oversees hoisting crews, shaft infrastructure, and underground access with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include directing daily operations, ensuring training and documentation, and coordinating with maintenance. Must meet DOE badge and work authorization requirements; positions may require varied backshifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; relevant mine hoisting background valued.
• Experience with shaft systems, hoist maintenance, and safety training preferred.
• Must meet DOE access and site security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily hoist operations and oversee hoisting crews for safe access to WIPP underground.
• Provide guidance, schedule work, and ensure adherence to procedures and training.
• Maintain shift logs, production and incident reports; enforce lockout/tagout.
• Coordinate with maintenance planners to ensure prompt repairs; lead on safety.
