Job summary

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO) seeks an Underground Maintenance Coordinator for the WIPP site in Carlsbad, NM. You will support maintenance managers, develop work instructions, and assist with procedures while researching schematics as needed.

Ideal candidates will be able to act as Field Work Supervisors, pass required health tests, and work in contaminated areas following all safety guidelines. DOE security requirements and TIM considerations apply to placement.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with two (2) years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of relevant experience.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site.
• TIM positions require adherence to DOE O 426.2A requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support Underground Maintenance Managers and Supervisors.
• Assist with development of work instructions and procedures for active field work.
• Research schematics and manuals as needed for materials.
• May fill in as Field Work Supervisor (FWS) when needed and pass Pulmonary Function Test and respirator qualification.
• Willingness to work in Contaminated areas and follow all safety procedures.
• Conduct frequent underground inspections to maintain safe conditions.
• Complete training per site policies and perform tasks supporting underground maintenance operations.
