Job summary

SIMCO, LLC in Carlsbad, New Mexico seeks an Underground Maintenance Mechanic to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on diesel and electric mobile equipment, hoisting equipment, mining equipment, and waste handling gear at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). Candidates must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant maintenance experience, and be U.S.

citizens (as applicable).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience or four years of industrial maintenance training/education.
• U.S. citizenship required, with DOE considerations.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on diesel and electric mobile equipment, hoisting equipment, mining equipment, and waste handling gear.
• Maintain safety procedures, regulations, and training; report hazards promptly.
• Maintain qualifications to perform duties and pass a Pulmonary Function Test to work in contaminated areas.
