Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry-level general technician to join our below-ground crew. You will assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines, operate basic tools and equipment, and support with meter reading, corrosion inspections, and related maintenance activities.

As a bargaining unit member under IBEW Local 1997, you will follow safety practices, adhere to company policies, and contribute to efficient field operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining gas mains and service lines.
• Operate basic equipment and tools and manage traffic control.
• Support in meter reading, corrosion inspections, and maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety rules and regulatory guidelines at all times.
• Document work activities and assist with field operations.
