Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking a general technician for below-ground work, joining a crew that installs, maintains, and repairs gas mains and service lines. This entry-level role involves operating basic equipment, performing leak tests, assisting with meter reads, and following strict safety practices in a field setting.

You will support distribution activities, assist with emergency and maintenance tasks, and help ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures and operator

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic tool handling and mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s license required for field work.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, repair and maintenance of gas distribution lines.
• Operate basic equipment and tools; perform traffic control and landscaping tasks.
• Dig, repair leaks, and test pipes; assist with meter reads and ERT duties.
• Follow safety guidelines and document activities using Mobile Data Terminal.
