Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician based out of Elko, NV, with responsibilities spanning preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and on-site repairs of mining equipment.

You will work closely with customers to ensure safety, reliability, and performance while minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate has at least two years of related experience, an accredited apprenticeship or one year of technical college, and strong knowledge of motor controls and schematics.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a related technical service role, mining or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or at least one year of technical college in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems and schematic diagrams.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning couplings, transfer cases and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with clear communication and safety focus.
• Commitment to safety protocols and adaptable to varied field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment for safety and reliability.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues; identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Replace or repair defective parts at customer sites while maintaining quality standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before return to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet schedules.
• Troubleshoot motor controls, circuit installations, and schematics efficiently.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of motors, couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs for continuous improvement.
