Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry-level Underground Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical underground distribution systems at various locations across the United States.

This role may require travel to another state based on customer demands and will involve hands-on work around energized equipment, transformer installation, fuses, and operating heavy equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in related field.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days.
• A CDL is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to work in various locations and environments.
• Able to lift over 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Directional Drilling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground.
• Assist with installing underground transformers.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.
• Operate or assist with heavy equipment as needed.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Capable of learning basic materials and methods used.
