Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time unarmed patrol observer role in San Jose, CA. You will protect clients across tech/manufacturing sites, maintain a visible security presence, and provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors.

The position emphasizes safety, policy adherence, and professional interactions. Responsibilities include access control, regular patrols, incident response, and coordination with site contacts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• 18+ years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing and regulatory requirements may apply.
• A valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology manufacturing location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain visitor records, and communicate entry requirements in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, production-support areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel.
• Assist with access-control, badge-related, and property-control procedures while maintaining professional communications and supporting a welcoming environment.
